On the eve of my first of 6 Luprone injections

On Monday, November 23rd, I will be taking my first injections of Luprone to shrink my fibroids. Presently, I have 4 that they can see on the ultrasound. The largest is 20 cm, followed by a 15cm, and two 10cm fibroids. I work out 5-6 days a week and I lift with a trainer 3 days and pretty hard. I'm pretty solid and lean, but i have a lot of abdominal bloating that makes me look at least 6 months pregnant. I have decided to chronicle my journey publicly via a blog because when I was reading about this injection, as well as other options, it was helpful to see real folks sharing their success and struggle. Over the course of the next 6 months, I will share my side effects, successes, challenges, and also images of my belly to help women who are considering using these injections, or who struggle with fibroids. By the way, I am 45 years old. I do not have children and I am not anemic. The picture below shows how puffy I get on average with these fibroids. It was also these fibroids that made my first marathon difficult because they were pressing against my diaphragm and causing me breathing issues. But I finished!
