first hot flash
Hit me out of nowhere. I was here eating dinner and started sweating lol..I've also noticed that I've been sleeping harder, even if it is for short amounts of time. It might be me being tired from work, but the intensity of the sleep feels different. No aches or pain right now.. No dry mouth today.. I still have a little acne, but so far, so good.

Bloat city
I've noticed that the day after the injection I have some acne and major bloat. My belly is hard and huge... I know that this means the injection is working but it's not attractive. I'll have time over the holiday break to see how I continue to adjust to the injection.

Injection 1-done
I got my first of possibly 6 months of Luprone injections today. Nowhere did I read where they inject you. I now know that it is in the glutes!! I had a good laugh here.
The midwife was nice and it was only a pinch. I feel "something" but not pain.. Hard to describe, but I am sure as the days and weeks go by, I can articulate this better.
I hope my reactions to this are mild.
More to come.. I have training tomorrow and I'll be interested in seeing if I feel fatigued when I lift.

On the eve of my first of 6 Luprone injections
On Monday, November 23rd, I will be taking my first injections of Luprone to shrink my fibroids. Presently, I have 4 that they can see on the ultrasound. The largest is 20 cm, followed by a 15cm, and two 10cm fibroids. I work out 5-6 days a week and I lift with a trainer 3 days and pretty hard. I'm pretty solid and lean, but i have a lot of abdominal bloating that makes me look at least 6 months pregnant. I have decided to chronicle my journey publicly via a blog because when I was reading about this injection, as well as other options, it was helpful to see real folks sharing their success and struggle. Over the course of the next 6 months, I will share my side effects, successes, challenges, and also images of my belly to help women who are considering using these injections, or who struggle with fibroids. By the way, I am 45 years old. I do not have children and I am not anemic. The picture below shows how puffy I get on average with these fibroids. It was also these fibroids that made my first marathon difficult because they were pressing against my diaphragm and causing me breathing issues. But I finished!
